I hope everyone had a great weekend! Are you all are enjoying #NYFW as much as I am?! I can't get enough of looking at pictures on Instagram, Twitter, and Style.com. All of the collections for Spring '15 are so exciting so far. I'm really into the lovely color palette, long coats, and light fabrics. It's going to be such a chic spring!

Here are some of my favorites from the collections yesterday. I love having a fashion recap!

I'm using #FashionFavorites on Twitter to talk about these looks - don't forget to follow me there! @FashionMaeven

Left: DKNY

Overall, my favorite collections from yesterday would probably have to be a tie between Thakoon and Opening Ceremony. Really great patterns from both runways! My biggest disappointment was from Victoria Beckham - I felt like the clothing was too simple to be exciting for me, especially coming from her.

What did you think of yesterday's showings? Are you excited for today's looks? Let me know your favorites!

Enjoy your Monday, kittens <3

Hello lovelies! The next few weeks of posts will be picture heavy, with just a few lines about my thoughts on the collections and garments. NYFW is so much fun for me to follow - especially now that I have friends working for some of these companies!

Here are some of my favorite presentation photos (that means no runway show):

Left: Derek Lam 10 Crosby
Middle: Band of Outsiders
Right: Red Valentino
1: Joie
2: M by Missoni
3 and 4: ZAC Zac Posen
Presentation photos were gorgeous this year! I love what trends we are seeing already. Long high-waisted skirts, light pastel hues, and flowing fabrics. Hooray!!

Here are some of my favorite looks from Day 1 of NYFW:

Left and Middle: BCBG Max Azria
Right: Richard Chai Love
Left and Middle: Tadashi Shoji
Right: Nicholas K
So far, I'm loving all of the flowing and feminine pieces. It seems like spring fashion is going to be so much fun already!

What were some of your favorite looks yesterday? Who are you excited about for Day 2? I just love NYFW!

It's the ultimate dream: girl grows up fairly normally in an upper middle class family, goes to university, meets a prince and marries him, and becomes the wife of the King of England. Sounds like a fairytale, but nope - it's just the life of the beautiful Catherine Middleton, also known as Kate or the Duchess of Cambridge. There's a lot of pressure on Kate to look a certain way, because she is part of the royal family. Although she usually looks very modest and demure, she has definitely taken royal fashion to a new level. She is even extending her fashionable style to her son (AKA the cutest child to ever be born), Prince George. She sports ensembles from lesser-known labels and designers from the countries she is visiting. Anything that she wears immediately flies off of the shelves: she has already become a total style icon.

Although we don't usually see Kate dressed-down, she has given us a few looks for every day inspiration! It is especially great to channel her now that we are moving from summer into fall or for some work attire ideas.

Casual royals: Boat neck striped tee, skinny dark pants, and flats are still proper when being laid back.

Printed button up with a cardigan and dark jeans - great for shopping!

Navy blazer with a button-up shirt, skinnies, and wedges are a great option for dressy casual.

To help us channel our own inner princesses, here is a set for some style inspiration:
Kate's Essentials:
Simple button-up shirt
Blazer in a neutral color (navy blue or black)
Cream colored cardigan (matches everything!)
Dark skinny jeans
Simple diamond stud earrings
Neutral ballerina flats
Tan peep-toe wedges
Curling wand to get that fabulous hair!
Like the items pictured? Here's the set on Polyvore...(you can follow me on there too!):

Happy Wednesday, royal kittens! <3

Tuesday, September 2, 2014

Hello everyone and happy September!! I took the day off from posting yesterday and enjoyed the long weekend. What did you do?

For the next month, most of my posts will be on EVERYTHING related to fashion week!

Here are the dates so you can keep your schedule straight:
September 4-11: Mercedes Benz Fashion Week - New York #MBFW
September 12-16: London Fashion Week #LFW
September 17-23: Milan Fashion Week #MFW
September 23-October 1: Paris Fashion Week #PFW

Usually, I use a few websites to seek my photos from #MBFW (aside from Twitter/blogs):

http://mbfashionweek.com/new-york/schedule
Mercedes-Benz's website may not be comprehensive of every show happening in New York, but it is a great way to keep track of the shows in general, particularly the major names.

http://www.style.com/fashionshows/
Style.com is extremely handy during fashion week - you can search designers, see every show that's happening, and also see reviews, press, and who is sitting front row.

Which shows are you most excited to see? Who are your favorite models?

Here is my favorite moment from the last Pars fashion week, just as a refresher for the greatness that may see this month:
