Today's fashion inspiration comes from a beautiful hip hop star that was tragically taken too soon. Aaliyah was not only an amazing singer and actress, but a real trend-setter. Her clothing and hair was always striking and forward-thinking. Let's take a look at her style choices and try to channel some inspiration!

Aaliyah was all about two great trends: crop tops and baggy boyfriend jeans. It sure helps when you have a rockin' bod too! Also, Aaliyah and bejeweled items go hand in hand.

Menswear is something else that Aaliyah wore a lot. Fitted hats, high waisted jeans, and big sweatshirts and tees. Don't forget the hoops!
Let's look at some inspiration for us, shall we?

Happy Friday!! It's time to discuss the trends that we saw at fashion week, not only in Paris, but at all of the fashion weeks. From start to finish, the entire month was incredible. There were so many show-stopping pieces.

Let's take a look at my favorite looks and collection from Paris Fashion Week first! I have two overall favorites, which I think show a great diversity in the trends that we've seen:

Balmain. Overall, the collection was filmy, sexy, and sleek. It had a lot of the colors we've been seeing (neutrals, reds, pops of pastels) and LOTS of sheer fabric. PERFECTION.

Paco Rabanne. I think this has two very important trends: casual sportswear and texture. I love the 3D skirt texture mixed with the casual jersey sweater. So wearable and chic!

But of course, my favorite collection is:

Chanel! King Karl has once again given us a beautiful Chanel collection that can be worn by a woman at any age. The rich fabrics and textures, mixed with the wearable silhouettes and gorgeous watercolors...I could go on and on. A+

We saw a lot of amazing things in the past few weeks. There are a lot of big trends, and we can touch on them here a little bit:

-Lots of 1970s inspiration (colors and silhouettes!)
-Pastels (light pinks, oranges, and blues)
-Graphic black and white patterns
-Texture (3D, fringe, layered fabrics)
-Oxfords/low flats
-Filmy, sheer fabrics
-Street-style inspiration

What was your favorite look from this month? It's TOO hard to choose just one. I think that the playing fields were definitely evened this season - all of the cities were equally great and forward-thinking (which doesn't always happen).

Have an excellent Friday, kittens <3 I'll be getting back into the regular swing of my old posts now!

Bonjour, les chats! (hehe) Happy Paris Fashion Week! I'm so thrilled that it's finally here. Yesterday was the first "day" - although there were only a few shows. We'll look at favorites and then I'll throw in a few other nail polish/book photos!

These three collections were all very inspired by street fashion. I like the casual air and the ease of these garments.
Left: Hood by Air (very casual and hip-hop inspired)
Middle: Anthony Vaccarello (deep v-necks, very sexy silhouettes)
Right: Jacquemus (very nautical!)

FINALLY got my first Ciaté polish!! It it a very thick, full coverage glitter. Two coats gave me total opacity. It's called Wrap Star! I love the pink and purple shimmers. I'll be buying more in the future!

I just finished my first mystery novel/Agatha Christie book. It was INCREDIBLE and I would recommend it to any person reading mystery for the first time. Also - I'm currently wearing one of my favorite nail polishes, Wicked from Essie!
Happy Wednesday kittens! <3

Hello everyone and happy Sunday! I didn't get to post yesterday (weekends are so busy!). However, I'm back on track and ready to discuss some of my favorite looks from the beginning of London Fashion Week!

London and Paris are probably my two favorite cities of fashion month. I feel like London's designers really push the envelope and emphasize street style more (which is what most normal people are wearing anyway!!).

Let's check out the first two days of LFW and see the trends and best looks:

Fabulous 1960s inspired hues and prints - so feminine and bold!
Left: Orla Kiely
Right: House of Holland (one of my favorite collections, as always!)

Flouncy layers + floral prints? Sounds good to me!!
Left: Marchesa (my favorite LFW collection so far!)
Middle: Eudon Choi
Right: Preen by Thornton Bregazzi

We're continually seeing black and white graphic prints in simple shapes. So chic!
Left: Lulu & Co
Middle: McQ by Alexander McQueen
Right: Norma Kamali
What do you think of LFW so far? Do you have a favorite trend?

Enjoy your Sunday kittens - see you tomorrow with more favorites <3
