Hi there kittens - happy Monday! London fashion week is in full swing - and I'm beyond obsessed. There's nothing I love more than scouring the collections and picking out trends and favorite looks. Yesterday's shows didn't disappoint either! Below are some of the best ensembles:

Both looks are by Mary Katrantzou and I'm just a little in love with the collection and her inspiration. Katrantzou was inspired by Pangea and the earth millions of years ago. I love the splitting of panels on the dresses and the floral and animal prints. Really awe-inspiring and creative!

There are a lot of looks incorporating sculptural inspiration and movement.
Left: Pringle of Scotland (Pringle used a 3D printer for their shapes!)
Right: Jonathan Saunders

Of course, it can't be spring without beautiful floral prints!
Left: Mulberry
Right: Matthew Williamson (love the tropical vibes!)

Definitely a surge of clothing for women going to work/having casual Friday...
(Thank god - who can possibly do errands in couture?!)
Left: Temperley London
Middle: Vivienne Westwood Red Label (Did you see the beauty for this show? Bizarre makeup!)
Right: Topshop Unique
What do you think about London's shows so far? Any supreme hits or misses? Let me know!
Enjoy your Monday lovelies <3

Sunday, September 14, 2014

Hello everyone and happy Sunday! I didn't get to post yesterday (weekends are so busy!). However, I'm back on track and ready to discuss some of my favorite looks from the beginning of London Fashion Week!

London and Paris are probably my two favorite cities of fashion month. I feel like London's designers really push the envelope and emphasize street style more (which is what most normal people are wearing anyway!!).

Let's check out the first two days of LFW and see the trends and best looks:

Fabulous 1960s inspired hues and prints - so feminine and bold!
Left: Orla Kiely
Right: House of Holland (one of my favorite collections, as always!)

Flouncy layers + floral prints? Sounds good to me!!
Left: Marchesa (my favorite LFW collection so far!)
Middle: Eudon Choi
Right: Preen by Thornton Bregazzi

We're continually seeing black and white graphic prints in simple shapes. So chic!
Left: Lulu & Co
Middle: McQ by Alexander McQueen
Right: Norma Kamali
What do you think of LFW so far? Do you have a favorite trend?

Enjoy your Sunday kittens - see you tomorrow with more favorites <3

Happy Friday everyone! NYFW is officially over - and I think it was an amazing success! Here are the last few favorites from yesterday's shows, and then we'll discuss trends and I'll reveal my favorite overall look and collection!

Utilitarian fashion - so practical but still beautiful.
Both looks are Marc Jacobs.

More gowns!!
Left: Ralph Lauren
Right: J. Mendel

Some casual looks - long blouses and skirts, more punk and rock influence.
Left: Chloƫ Sevigny for Opening Ceremony
Right: Calvin Klein Collection
Now let's recap the best of the trends from NYFW and make a determination of best look and collection!

Top Trends:
Long tops (grazing mid thigh)
Long skirts
Long coats (probably the most prominent trend)
Muted palette
Pastels and feminine hues (lilacs, dusty blues)
Floral prints
Graphic black and white prints

To top it all off, here it is - my FAVORITE look from NYFW Spring '15!!!!

The absolutely stunning Oscar de la Renta. One of my favorite collections overall.
Check out the trends: muted white dress in a floral print with a long coat combining bold colors with pastels. PERFECTION.

However, my favorite collection of course has to go to... THOM BROWNE!

Can you possibly get more creative than this? A cohesive and beautiful collection from start to finish AND head to toe. I'd like to live in ANY of these ensembles (AND ALL OF THE HATS).
What was your favorite collection from NYFW? What do you think of my picks?

Happy Tuesday everyone! Yesterday's shows were EVERYTHING - I am absolutely living for many of them, particularly Thom Browne's collection. Here are some of my favorite looks and trends from yesterday, as well as two of the best from Browne (it's almost impossible to pick only two!).

My two favorites from Thom Browne. That hat on the left practically made me cry - a mini bust of the outfit? It's just too much for me. The hats were custom made for each look (30 in all!). It's my favorite collection as a whole so far!

There are definitely some rocker vibes for Spring '15! I'm excited about this trend most of all.
Left: Libertine
Right: Tommy Hilfiger

Some stunning gowns so far - lots of different cut outs and creative silhouettes.
Left: Reem Acra
Right: Zac Posen

Navy seems to be a a major player in these collections, especially in long boxy shapes.
Left: The Row
Middle: Rag & Bone
Right: Karen Walker

Playful colors and florals are still very prominent, which is good for spring obviously!
Left: Alice + Olivia
Middle: Carolina Herrera
Right: Donna Karan
What did you think of yesterday's looks? Did you love or hate Thom Browne? Let me know!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Are you all are enjoying #NYFW as much as I am?! I can't get enough of looking at pictures on Instagram, Twitter, and Style.com. All of the collections for Spring '15 are so exciting so far. I'm really into the lovely color palette, long coats, and light fabrics. It's going to be such a chic spring!

Here are some of my favorites from the collections yesterday. I love having a fashion recap!

I'm using #FashionFavorites on Twitter to talk about these looks - don't forget to follow me there! @FashionMaeven

Left: Tracy Reese
Right: Victoria Beckham

Left: Opening Ceremony
Middle: Thakoon
Right: Versus Versace

Left: DKNY
Middle: Nanette Lepore
Right: Diane Von Furstenberg
Overall, my favorite collections from yesterday would probably have to be a tie between Thakoon and Opening Ceremony. Really great patterns from both runways! My biggest disappointment was from Victoria Beckham - I felt like the clothing was too simple to be exciting for me, especially coming from her.

What did you think of yesterday's showings? Are you excited for today's looks? Let me know your favorites!

Enjoy your Monday, kittens <3
